Privacy statement

Last updated: 9 August 2026

This app (the “Festivals” web app on mauritspak.nl) is built to be privacy-friendly. It has no user accounts, and it does not sell your data or use it for advertising. This page explains exactly what data is used, why, and what your choices are under the GDPR (in Dutch: AVG).

Who is responsible

The operator of this app is the data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@example.com.

Festival data

The festival schedules and line-ups shown in the app are compiled from publicly available sources. They are not provided directly by the festivals or their organisers, and this app is not affiliated with them. Times and acts can change — always check the festival's own official channels for the definitive line-up.

Data stored on your device

To make the app work, some settings are stored locally in your browser (via localStorage / cache). This data stays on your device and is not sent to us:

You can erase all of this at any time via Settings → Reset, which clears local data and the offline cache.

Cookies

By default this app sets no cookies. Google Analytics places a cookie only if you turn analytics on yourself (see below); it is off by default. For the full list of cookies and local storage, see our cookie statement.

Analytics (optional, off by default)

Analytics is disabled by default. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics and no analytics cookie is set unless you explicitly enable it under Settings → Privacy. This is our legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by switching it back off. Enabling analytics is entirely optional — the app works fully without it, and it is never required to use the app.

When you do enable it, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the app is used, in an aggregated and pseudonymous way. It records events such as which festival or screen you view, opening the weather or map, and how many favourites you have. It does not record your name, email or any profile.

We have configured it to be as privacy-friendly as possible: Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, and we have switched off Google Signals and advertising personalisation. Your data is not used for advertising. See Google’s privacy policy.

External services and content

Because the app loads some resources and data from other providers, your browser contacts those providers directly. We do not send them your personal data; they only receive the technical data your browser automatically includes with any request, such as your IP address and basic details like browser and device type. We do not control those providers’ own processing. Specifically for the weather, only a festival’s fixed coordinates are sent — never your own location.

International data transfers

Some of the providers above (such as Google and Cloudflare) are based in the United States, so contacting them can involve transferring technical data outside the European Economic Area. These providers rely on recognised safeguards for such transfers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard server logs (including IP address and request time) to keep the service secure and running. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and operation of the app.

How long data is kept

Your rights (GDPR / AVG)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability and to withdraw consent. In practice:

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Children

This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this statement. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
